The digital 'left behinds' workshop
This activity aims to raise awareness of women who have left their mark on the history of digital technology through their work or inventions, and who are nonetheless unknown.
Content
What is it about ?
This workshop brings these women out of oblivion, but it also raises important questions such as why have these women been forgotten? How can we make women more important in the digital sector?
How to use it ?
How to play:
Print out the portrait cards and the invention cards and ask the participants to find out which woman was responsible for which discovery. Once the right cards have been matched, you can read the biographies to them or have them read them to you.
What is important is to start a discussion on the place of women in the digital sector: do you know the women in the workshop? do you know any others? why are they being overlooked? how can we make the digital sector more gender-balanced?
