What is it about ?

The Digital Atelier is a laboratory carried out by two teachers of the middle school of Fumane (Italy) who took part to the training sessions held by the Smart Venice team as part of the Gender4STEM project.

The laboratory took place during afternoon’s hours and students of the first class took part at a voluntary basis.

The aim of the laboratory was to teach STEM in a more dynamic way helping students to develop interpretative and creative skills.

The video consists in the explanation made by pupils themselves of the different phases followed during one of the activities carried out during the Digital Atelier. The activity called “the reality task” (Compito di realtà) consisted in studying an object, a “dresser”, and creating it using the 3D printer. As reported by Ester Donadoni and Laura Allegrini, the two teachers leading the laboratory, the majority of students taking part to the activity were female.
