Guidelines showing how STE(A)M subjects need to be taught in an integrated way and integrated into our daily life, in order for students to perceive their relevance. This approach would boost pupils' interest for STE(A)M studies and careers!

What is it about ?
These guidelines are meant to support teachers integrate career guidance in the teaching. The document provide suggestions on how to integrate the topic of STEM careers, especially with the use of career sheets, video interviews and podcasts in classes, as well as activities and follow-up suggestions. It firstly introduces examples of integrating career counselling in traditional teaching, later presenting suggestions for teachers on how to utilize career sheets, video interviews and podcasts as teaching materials, and finally promotes the research of STE(A)M jobs to contribute to the project's repository.
The guidelines were developed thanks to the "STE(A)M IT" EU project - Katsikerou et al. (2021). Guidelines on how to present STEM jobs in classrooms, January 2021, European Schoolnet, Brussels. They are to be intended as a part of the greter framework of the "STE(A)M IT" project, including a “Repository of STEM Job Profiles”, which aims to raise awareness on the skills needed in the STEM careers and jobs in general, by collecting career sheets, video interviews and podcasts depicting STEM job profiles.
How to use it ?
The aim of these guidelines is to provide for support and inspiration for teachers in the integration of STE(A)M jobs' counselling into their teaching. Professors and teachers can take inspiration from the vast quantity of materials and tools created by the project to later use them in classroom.
