How inclusive are the spaces that we live in? This exercise will guide your class to look at and appreciate the architecture of spaces surrounding them, via intersectional lenses.

What is it about ?
Teachers engage students in a meaningful exploration of spatial inclusion, raise their awareness of “inequalities by design” that can be part of the built environment, and empower them to make positive changes within their school community.
How to use it ?
The activity is organised into diverse phases, namely:
- PREPARATION
- PLANNING
- MAPPING
- FIELD WORK & DATA COLLECTION
- ANALYSIS & EVALUATION
- ACTION PLANNING
- REFLECTION, REPORTING & PRESENTATION
- IMPLEMENTATION & MONITORING
The main goal will be the production of an inclusive map, ready to be submitted to and discussed with school direction personnel, in order to adopt inclusive changes.
The activity-programme includes tips, driving questions for teachers and for students, further resources and apps to use.
